If you missed the Roof top event with Carmen and Oliver is there a way to reset or force the chain to continue without starting completly over
The chain will continue even if you miss the meeting, but the next event will take longer to trigger.

Rumours downtown still occurs after a few weeks, worst case is 12 months extra delay over the no-delay best path through the chain, but that's a vanishingly small chance. Probably closer to another few weeks, if I'm understanding the probability correctly.

This is the same situation as if you don't miss the meeting, but then go into the bathroom yourself instead of sending in some nearby students.
There's a slight bug here too but that probably won't affect progress in most cases:

The gossip girls don't get their HasQuest flag set in this path, so it'd be feasible to block this by, for example enslaving one of the gossip girls between missing the meeting and the rumours triggering.
Not the same question, but I figured this would be a good thread to use for mine. In the Carmen Smith event where she trips in the sports field and you can help her up or cop a feel, do I HAVE to get slapped and take the 10 Rep hit for the chain to progress or can I get her corrupt enough to endure the grope if I do her student dating steps first?

Help her up until you get your hooks in, then you can grope away and build her "Fan Club".
