Quote from: worldsoul on Nov 26, 2023, 01:13 AMI'm trying to get into this game, but right now, it feels like 90% of my time is going to be taken up with a grind of some sort, be it raising skills, doing the workouts, farming events, or whatever. I understand you're supposed to work on changing your school using hypnosis and stuff, but the new player guide only tells me how to do some grinding, not any goals to shoot for or things I can unlock.

To be clear, which New Player Guide are you looking at? https://henthighschool.net/hhs/hints-for-new-players/ for example is more of a first-day walkthrough than explanation of what's going on or why you want to play the game, which sounds like the problem you're having.

There isn't really an official New Player Guide or Walkthrough. The general design of the game is that you should encounter most of the game organically: experimentation, exploration, world-clues, events that happen as you change yourself and the world around you. The world setup is that the population move towards the norm, so your overall focus is on moving that norm to be more lewd, which takes time and starts slowly, but accelerates.

At the early stages, most skills are going to be once-a-day level-ups, and those should take you into the early stages of those skills, which will start triggering the early quest chains. Some quest chains require longer-term world effects or individuals to reach certain stages before they can trigger, and while you can work specifically towards them, in many case you can't because the HasQuest flag prevents you specifically accelerating their progress. Quests are roughly balanced for the world-norms, rather than hyper-corrupting the quest-related individuals to start them. (Quest outcomes often end up hyper-corrupting the targets, but that's the point of those quest chains.)

So generally I recommend not focussing on anything early; go wide, and raise all the skills you can a bit each day, and the rest of your time is going to be wandering around the school during school time, and the town afterwards. A bunch of the sandbox systems and town stat changes are driven by events that happen as you wander about, and quest chains that aren't PI-started are usually triggered in school hallways or the school outdoor areas, with some triggered in specific areas of the school.

The actual skill requirements for quest chains are not particularly high, and some, like the club chains, have a choice of stat used to advance, so you're not required to max-out any particular stat for the quest chains. (I for example try to ignore Hypnosis beyond the book-reading as much as possible, as it's a time/energy sink and I can achieve what I want without it for the most part.)

There's a bunch of systems you can then sink time into, with what should be fairly obvious payoffs. Flirting/dating, hypnosis, chemistry (but expensive and has early penalties); some systems with less-obvious payoffs include the PI, spy cams and some of the clubs.

There are also places that simply don't do a good-enough job of providing hints or suggestions for what to do next. That's gotten a lot better over the last few releases as work has gone into things like the Smartphone quest logs, and the "Lore" NPC stats view. Some issues the developers are aware of but ignoring because the whole quest chain is intended to be rewritten, and some are probably just familiarity preventing noticing that sometimes the next step in a quest is completely not obvious. (Saw one of these in a thread recently, in fact.)

Early on, you'll be cash-strapped and school growth (new teachers, expansions) will be hard. If your school students are learning well, and you're not getting in trouble (i.e. Education and Reputation rising) then you'll get well-paid each month and cautious investment can be used to increase that. Rushing to try and activate every quest chain at once will easily send you broke (the PI is expensive), and since those chains generally don't increase your money-making capability, you can get stuck.

In the end, it's a sandbox, not a VN, so it's designed to be played in. You don't need to run every system and complete every quest line; you can't actually win the game (yet). Some people find that too undirected for their tastes, and some people find the game not sandboxy-enough.

(I have seen a more-VN-like Hypnosis-focussed appreciation of HHS+ as it happens... Hentai University)

Quote from: worldsoul on Nov 26, 2023, 01:13 AMBasically, I don't know what the rewards for all the work I'm going to be putting in are going to be, so I can't tell what I should focus on.

The primary 'rewards' for grinding are unlocking new events and lewder event variants. All events have their own individual trigger criteria, so what happens is that as you grind, the events you see gradually become more and more lewd. It's meant to be a gradual progression.

Almost all the major rewards are done through either PTA proposals or quests, and several quests will test a particular skill or stat, with little overlap, and there's often little use for the skill after you are done with the quest.

Quote from: worldsoul on Nov 26, 2023, 01:13 AMwhat is "lower" willpower?

Willpower is functionally "defense against hypnosis" - successfully hypnotizing a person and using the "Corrode Willpower", "Enflame Lust", and "Promote Corruption" options will lower their willpower and make subsequent attempts easier. 1 willpower = 1% lower chance to hypnotize, so there's no real threshold to worry about.

How can I get slaves?

Quote from: koko253 on Nov 30, 2023, 06:37 PMHow can I get slaves?

Unless something's changed, you can have at most one slave at a time.

From memory: you need to have refurbished your home basement (through the school management system) and then go through the Missing Girl events. When you reach the end of that chain, you'll have the opportunity to rescue and release the girl, or to claim her for yourself - in which case you can chain her up in your basement, so long as you keep feeding her - and once you've completely broken her, you can release her back into the wild without negative consequences (or can keep having to feed her to keep her from starving to death on you).

Unfortunately, I ended this event and did not choose to take the girl for myself

it'll fire again in a while. Just keep ignoring solo eaters at lunch and you can train as many as you like

I don't see the Girl eating lunch event
Where or when it should appear

Did you release the girl and return her to her parents? If yes, then this is not the end of the event. After some time, she will come to your office and offer a reward. There are several branches, the longest one includes a bunch of sex scenes in the office, until the girl gets pregnant and leaves the city.

Yes, this is exactly the path I chose, but I told her that I would take care of her and the son (something like this, I don't remember the exact conversation). Does this have a different effect or will she leave the city anyway?
In addition, I described pregnancy mode. Does this have an effect?

Sorry, but I don't remember that much. And I've never used pregnancy mod.

In the base game, the pregnant missinggirl and her family moving away is unavoidable (as this is the point in the event that clears the states needed for the next misinggirl).

However, I believe the "I'll look after you and baby" type text is from the pregnancy mod, since the base game version of this chain never reveals the father or appears to suggest anything like that. So I guess that mod does change the behaviour, and I don't have a copy handy right now to check.

Edit: Pregnancy Mod's latest changes says "Added Missing Girl quest integration, it's now possible to make her not leave town on pregnancy path." so yeah, what you want is probably possible, but I'm not sure at what point the missinggirl chain resets in this case. Possibly it waits until the child is born.

Edit again: I grabbed the pregnancy mod, and as far as I can see, when you have the choice of "Not my problem"; "We'll raise them together"; "She'll raise them", that will clear the state and you can after a couple of weeks, once again encounter a dark-haired daughter of unemployed parent(s), eating lunch alone in the school outdoor areas. (I didn't check, it might be possible to have the same girl again in this case, as in the base game, you're prevented from this because the family always moves away... Although not in the female-MC path. Hmm, maybe there is a check to avoid this? I did say I didn't check...)

Final edit: Not directly relevant to the question, but I noticed pregnancy mod (but not the base game version) appears to have a bug where if you take the cash reward, it won't reset the chain, so you won't get another shot at this.

Thank you for your help. If I understood correctly, I have to wait for the baby to be born until I can repeat the event again (sorry, my English is weak, so I will check if I understood you).

I wanted to know how to activate the Secret Club event. I did it once, but I failed to enter it, and since then it has not appeared anywhere.

Sorry, no. That was my incorrect guess. When I checked the mod, the decision you already made from the three choices of "Not my problem"; "We'll raise them together"; "She'll raise them" should have enabled the quest chain to restart after 2-3 weeks, from the "Student eating lunch alone" in one of the school outdoor areas.

Do you mean the club in Red Corner that you overhear about from some students on campus, and then trade a blowjob for access, but are still locked out? I believe that's the end of the quest, the reward is that you'll occasionally hear students on campus talking about the club again, and it'll add some corruption to your students each time it happens.

so... was doing the petra hooter/Susan hooter line but now i can't progress (had peter as a futa). After watching susan masturbate for the first night I can't give petra the picture afterwards. When I first tried to give her the picture there was an error message that was stupid enough not to look at and save over after it happened. The picture is gone from my inventory and petra keeps asking for it. Principle is saying they left it at home while it doesnt exist anymore... how to rollback to the first night again to retrigger it without starting over?
