Playing 1.10.5.3, the images look horizontally stretched when I maximize the window on my 3840x2160 (16x9) monitor, and if I resize the window manually there doesn't seem to be anything locking the aspect ratio of either the game window or the background images. Is there a simple way to set the aspect ratio to something that looks good?

The images are a very mixed bag of lowsize jpg's from the early days of "let's make a hentai game and redistribute it on a forum" and some newer images added and modified as various developers and contributers have contributted to the game.

If this is your first time playing this game it might appear a bit more striking than it does to some of us.

Is it a case of every image looking streetched? Or just most?

(I was about to make a large post with questions/rants regarding the standard of images, their formats, sizes and questions regarding the games viewport. I just havent figured out which thread to use on this forum, or weather I should ask the questions on the discord. When I noticed this thread as being semi relevant.)

It's not my first time playing, but it seems like a bunch of the background images have been updated since I last played. I had always left it maximized before and there was black space around the edges when an image wasn't the same aspect ratio as the window. Now it seems like images get stretch to fit the window instead.

Backgrounds being stretched to fill sounds like a bug to me. It'd mess-up the button positions, unless they're also being adjusted the same way, in which case it's a deliberate (but odd) change.
