Almost, because it sorta made me do some introspection and realise that perhaps the magic that kept me attached to BK is indeed not coming back, and this forum is also not quite what it used to be.

I'll give it a few more months and see if I'm being too hasty.

Before I signed up for the old BK forums, I always thought you had to have a screw loose to be an active contributor in a forum dedicated to porn games. Not much has changed since then, apart from me accepting that I'm also one of those weirdo's. Some of us are more broken than others, which makes it a trifle to brush such posts off. With that in mind, I guess I'm still relatively normal after all, thank goodness! I hope you'll find a way to feel the same, wherever that may take you.

   Hi, I go by Lothran or Haldane (old rpg names of mine)
I have played BK and HHS a few times over many years and just came back here last month to see what has changed. I just managed to finish chapter 6 on Brothel Prince setting in 2Y 4M 5D but nothing announced that I had finished (ah well).
   I also used to play PyTFall at Pink Pinapple (talk about a dead game) it was playable but just faded away.
   I have started a concept for a new game called 'The Salty Dog Bar', a first person brothel game, female MC, with a self corruption theme, but since there is no way I have the time to finish it due to advancing age, I am wondering if I should just post my ideas? Any opinions?

Does 'advancing age' mean you fear you'll keel over before even the design doc is finished?

I like corruption, but most 2D games don't really have very interesting takes on it. Liz - The Tower and the Grimoire was the first corruption game that really resonated with me.

And I can't stomach the 3D in adult games.


Anyhoo, my experience is that ideas are a dime a dozen and it's the work you put in that makes the difference.

  I am 66 now so while I could post what I have so far or add a little more is certainly possible but all the games I like seem to never end and are still in 'development' 10 years later. With my current state of health I don't see me ever finishing any long(er) term programming project.
  I have never heard of 'Tower and the Grimoire', but I can try to search for it.

You can probably also find it in other places that, well, let's say they charge less. A lot less. Maybe even 100% less.



While the design doc isn't a bad start, it's a long, looooong way from being a game.

Fortunately, making just a "roll dice&slideshow" game in Ren'Py or Godot or whatever is popular these days shouldn't be too hard. A loop that gives you a choice/menu for activity each day, roll dice to get success and an image+description, maybe a stat screen and date counter somewhere. Ren'Py would do most UI work for you. A week or two if you're proficient and already have the images ready; maybe a few months if you're green but ready to learn.

I hadn't really considered a 'slideshow game' but I have seen several. Many are written in Twine and use a browser for the display. Even then I have seen some that were still being worked on 4 or 5 years later. My main complaint about those is a lack of variety in the graphics... each page always uses the same pictures... after about three tries I move on for something more interesting. I was envisioning using BK girl packs and tailored the game flow in a similar progressing, but clearly that will be a more complicated development.
