When can I see the new version? I'm looking forward to it

Short answer: who knows.

 

Here is the situation as of today: I am working on finishing the third ninja storyline (to be released as a patch), then there will be the conclusion of Chapter 3 and 0.3 will be done.

In the future, Chapter 4 and 5 will deal with a single new story phase (let's call that 0.4 and 0.5), and Chapter 6 will have the overall wrap-up of the story. That will take us close to 1.0 (but feature creep...).

Now, the reality check: I am only one guy, and I have taken on a new job last year that gives me a lot less flexibility to put in some work on the game during 'wasted hours' (basically, I have no freedom whatsoever to do anything on my work PC).

Over the years, no one has really come forward to help me with the writing of events, which is the time-consuming part (even just testing and proofreading helps a lot), and I'm stubborn in that I won't lower my standards very much when writing, so I don't want to rush events that are half-assed just to get across the finish line.

So it takes time. I'm always working on the game here and there, but it's a slow burn. However, if anyone wants to help, I'm always all-ears! 

If it is just writing and no coding at all I can try something but I can't guarantee the quality. You would have to check it anyway and see if it fits your standards but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Well, what I usually do is give newcomers a couple of events to write in Ren'py. That's how far I've got with any of them TBH, as writers have a way to disappear on me...

If you want to give it a shot, I can send you the pictures for a stand-alone event and let you try your hand at it.
