As said, pressing 'Del' on a picture puts it on the ignore list. If it's not working, try updating. This feature had major problems just a little while ago, but has been fixed since.


As to picture rotation, getting to see only a subset of pictures has been brought up before but I don't think there's ever been any kind of hard evidence for it. It's not deliberately coded to work like that, but it's possible that some quirk of how it's done produces this result. If you can provide a save and detailed instructions of how to reproduce the issue, it'd go a long way towards solving this.

Re: picture rotation, I'll try to figure out a way to recreate. The best example I have currently is if you do free form training and spam the same position (ex 'service' and 'sex') over and over, you'll never see some of the photos with that tag. Theoretically, you'd eventually see all the photos with that tag, but instead it shows maybe the same 20 or 30 excluding some. Then I reboot and see new photos.

Well, I went into free-form training, messed around a little with D. Va (the basic girl pack gal with the most images) and didn't really see anything out of place. Since trying to manually cycle through all the 100+ sex images looked a bit intimidating, I made something like 2000 passes at console-generating an image using the existing mid-training parameters. Got somewhere over a 100 images for 'sex'. Then I fetched everything in her directory that had 'sex' in the filename, pruned away all those that were among the existing 100+ images or had something belonging to 'not_tags' in the filename. About 45 were still there. Then pruned everything that had something generated from those 'not_tags' by 'Girl.get_pic()', like 'sex anal' when the act was 'sex'. And the end result was... drumroll... empty. That is, every image that was legit got generated at least once in these 2000 tries.

It's possible that the console and game code behave a bit differently, although that'd be the first time this happens to me. It's also possible that my game settings (all the picture preferences, variety, etc) are different than yours, and the problem lies there. But the most likely explanation is that you were not doing this a thousand times, and the picture selection you got was a valid random sample.



Otherwise, I agree that the game could use a screen that lists all the existing hotkeys, including the save-deleting and image-banning functions of 'Delete'.

The problem I see is that any kind of voting might turn into a popularity contest for the character instead. Also, it might not be entirely clear what you are even voting on. (tag coverage, quality of the tagging, image quality, that you like the character, that you appreciate the work...)


Personally, I would rather stay with a spreadsheet. I have usually tried to use "image count" and "pack rating" to find promising girlpacks, as I feel numbers are more reliable than subjective votes. One thing I would like is being able to see how much work the pack creator put into applying minor tags. There's quite a few packs that focus mostly on the main tags, and then have 100 "profile (xxxxx)" and 50 "service (xxxxx)" instead of a more fine-grained description of the image.

Quick question: What do you guys think of expanding the base girl pack to a larger size, I'm thinking about 50 girls so double the current size.

Pros: People complain that the current base girl pack is not enough to start playing.
Cons: Larger download, may not match everyone's tastes (and of course, we'd have to find 20+ good girl packs, but if their creators are okay I believe that's possible).

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Maybe conversion to more efficient image/video formats wouldn't even increase size much if at all?

Although we're missing neronero right now, who was pretty instrumental in getting the old pack made.

I think it would work. Nowadays unless it inflates to truly ridiculous sizes, the size of the download isn't as much of a concern as it used to be. The more important thing is adding enough mirrors.

Talking about the base girl pack, could we update some of them with better pictures? Some of them are ugly if not outright boner-killers, or better alternatives have been made since then.
I'm willing to update a few of them. And maybe we could set some guidelines for size and resolution in the base packs, if other people want to help. Personally my game lags when anything is over 1280x720. (Not the games fault, but Ren'Py's.)

I agree with an extended base girl pack, and have a good feeling about managing here on HHS a girl pack section structured this way:

- girl packs
---alphabetical sub-sections (from A to Z)
------a discussion for each character, where each packer posts his pack, rating and related download links

also an instructions thread explaining how to post a girl pack in the right section, and what it must include (character name, number of pics, rating, has any BK.ini or custom events, etc.)

This if somebody willingly accepts to manage it.

I might be able to be of assistance. I was one of the folks who came up with the google form submission idea and have Editor privileges for the sheet made in like 2020. Ive been gone for a while so not sure if thats the current sheet.

You can always try if this still lets you in. I guess someone going through and reporting all the broken links would be handy, if you do have access. 

If it can wait till the weekend i can go trough the sheet to see wich one's are dead and make a list of it. From that point onwards we can make a new basic girlpack. You guys just need to choose wich one's you want to include in it and i update the current one.

So I can in fact edit the sheet (see cell O2 on Drawn packs). My question is do we want to just try to hide the broken links, or cast them directly into oblivion(aka Delete from the master list)?

Personally, I'd move them over to another tab, 'history' or something. But I'm a packrat at heart, so...
