'Restocking' quests sounds like a neat idea!

Don't quests still bypass the Taxgirl? That's a considerable boon once you hit the later chapters. You also won't gain and then lose rep like it's possible during the regular night cycle. So getting the last bit of rep to rank up is easier that way.

This is also the first time I've seen someone praising classes. Are they actually useful now?

Well getting certain stats like refinement up is easier when you use classes in the harder difficulties.  Plus you can get the stats to be slightly higher then the cap using the classes.

So when a customer asks for sex, it works like this:
  • Game randomly chooses from 1 to 3
  • Based on above number, the customer tries appealing to the girl's obedience, libido, or sensitivity
  • If the customer used obedience, but you forbid sex, she will deny him
  • If the customer used libido or sensitivity, forbidding sex does nothing

Personally, I think that forbidding a girl from having sex should provide (at minimum) a penalty no matter what tack the customer chooses. A simple version would be to just subtract obedience from the customer's result. This would make sense - if the girl is high obedience, she'll prefer to listen to your orders instead of indulging herself/the customer. But if she's low obedience, she won't listen to you.

Jman

Yeah, this seems like an oversight. I think all three variants are supposed to respect the forbid/allow sex rule.

All the resisting is already done in a separate check a little earlier in the code.

Hi, I will put it on the list of suggestions, but realistically not a candidate for implementation before 0.3 is finished.

I'm in favor of this idea.
I like quest especially for low-level girls to earn reputation and close the gap to the other girls.
Unfortunately low-level quests disappear as you move up the chapters.
So an approach similar to this could be interesting :
- 3-5 low level quests
- 2-4 mid level quests if Chapter >3 (upgradeable to 4-6)
- 1-3 high level quests if Chapter >5 (upgradeable to 3-5)
- 0-2 super quests  if Chapter >6 (upgradeable to 3-5)

Not as important for classes, since you can still send a D rank girl on a high ranked class. Just increasing the number of classes or the average rank of classes could be an option

hi
i started new game. its 2 week
and i got this)

https://imgur.com/a/ZE21lZP

i always have this on start, its like introduce attack on girl event. so i was thinking, mb its a bit too much? i mean not because this picture :) (its negative trait 200% hurt damage), its just a bit unfair to get hurt girl in game start, when i spend all my gold too buy girl and i need her to work. I have situation when this event ruin virgin girl, when i lose all money and now this. For me its not much problem, but mb for new player it does.

How was your security? And what hurt her, a monster or a customer?

Edit: Probably a monster, 1d3+2 days which are then tripled due the trait. Customers are 1d3+1.

While it's somewhat on you for picking such a frail girl, a full complement of 8 goons should be able to drive off the monster without any help from the MC. Even five should do it, actually.

monster
and after this i got massage from Sill "u have ur first security event"
i have 1 goon, other time 2. thread level normal

edit
its always 5 days hurt  :-\

It's 15 days in the image?

Not sure what 'always' means, a girl with +200% hurt can't even have five days... ah, one day passes in the morning. Don't really get how you get (1d3+2*)3 = 6, though.

Anyway, now it's definitely on you for not taking care of your brothel's security. :P Goons don't just lower threat buildup, they also reduce event severity in sufficient numbers.

yes in this situation its may fault)

but what reason to make so much security on game start when i collect money to buy rooms and girls when game say that its normal thread lvl... even if i put 8 goons thread lvl still normal, so i dont feel how much i need  :(

yes 15

ok, but i think that is scripted event. i have it mb all times when starting new game. or its just because i have low goon numbers?

Yeah, I agree it's not very transparent. 'Normal' only applies to threat buildup, not event severity. And you don't even see whether your threat has gone over the limit for triggering an event or not.

I spent a lot of time once trying to write a more dynamic threat colouring, made worse by the fact that security used random rolls and suffered losses over the night back in Bonanza. So I'm not too hard on Goldo because I got to feel the pain myself.

Not sure why you're getting 15 days all the time, 9 and 12 should also be possible.

I guess you get the event at roughly the same time in all playthroughs because your threat buildup (gold and working girls vs goons) is likely similar due to playstyle. And there's no randomness in threat buildup. You should be getting a random choice from either a monster or a burglar, though,

no i mean in every game my girls have about 5 days hurt from this event

i see. its bad, cos i think lots of people didnt get full stack of goons cos tread level didnt change.

You should be getting 3-5 days at random. Which I guess is 'about five' if you don't look too closely. And humans are always spotting patterns in RNG. ;D

You can guarantee security with five goons against both monsters and thieves. Less, if you have some strength and leave AP (or are a level 3+ Warrior). You can't let your guard down if you want a 100% guarantee.

Later chapters are even worse, because security thresholds tend to rise faster than you can build the guard furniture. I think some might be prohibitively high even with all relevant furniture, but haven't looked in a while.
