I've the Trait king mod, but that's it.

The error log reads a bit like garbage, so unless it's a problem with the mod, I think maybe something's wrong with your install. Did the game always crash, or is it recent? Have you added anything new (girlpack, mod...)? Try a clean install, or at least to start the game with no mod and only the vanilla girlpacks.

Hey everyone,

I've been having issues with my _BK.ini files, I've been using the templates on the site as well as the ones that came with the girl packs.

The issue is that they do not seem to fully work, the girls spawn with all the traits and skills I assigned them but they do not generate as what I intended. For example, I would set one of my girls to spawn as a slave, which would of course cause her to be on the slave market at the start of the game, but then she appears as a free girl. The contraty would also happen, girls I've set as free would end up quite consistently I may add, as slaves in the market.

I've re-done my .ini files like 4 times already and the problem continues, I am not using any mods and I am on a fresh, clean installation of the game (Patched of course). Some assistance would be appreciated.

Post your _BK.ini, formatting and all, and your version numbers (console 'config.version' to get those). Perhaps something is buggy, perhaps the .ini is still sensitive to formatting in some manner, perhaps you're doing something wrong. Hard to say from just this.

Well, I used your ini, cycled slaves a few times, got her to spawn with about all the attributes specified in the .ini (Con was a little low). Cycled slaves a dozen times and free girls somewhere north of 30 times. No new instances of the same girl pack appeared.

Are you actually using a sufficient number of non-unique girl packs?

Damn, you got me there, I have no idea how to add it as a code block, also I don't see an option to attach the file itself.

I have 12 total packs in the mix, 4 are unique. Would that be to many unique girls?

You can also host the file somewhere, like Mega, Mediafire or a variety of other free filehosts.



Even one non-unique girl should be sufficient.

Can you describe your problem in more detail? When/how do these 'extra' girls come about? How do they do that if they're unique? Is it still a single unique girl that goes on and off the market/free girl list, there's never more than one, and she does vary at least her starting skills?

Its actually happening quite constantly with several of the girls. So as I mentioned I have 12 packs in total, 4 of which are set as unique. The issue is that out of the 4 unique girls 2 are constantly being generated as free girls instead of slaves, meaning that at the start of a new game they do not show up on the market despite the .ini file settings.

The other 2 unique girls are more consistent when showing up on the market but sometimes they also go "missing".

This happened both when skipping the intro and when reading through it.

From the remaining non-unique girls, I have 2 that are set as free girls but consistently appear on the market at the start of a new game. I tested this several times, I would say around 8 times out of 10 these free girls showed up on the market despite their .ini files.

Regarding skills and traits, they all have exactly what I assigned them on the .ini files, not a single time did they spawn with traits or skill values other than what I set. Only the [Backgroun story] part of the .ini file seems to be failing somehow.

Well, I haven't seen anything of the sort (although I haven't really paid close attention, either).

So, the only real way to find out would be to first verify, that you don't have any mods or changed .rpy files. A fresh reinstall, perhaps.

Second, zip up your girl directory, without the pictures (that is, only the pack directories and _BK.ini files), and host it somewhere. Then I or Goldo or other helpful people can check your exact situation and see if there's indeed something strange going on.



Otherwise, all I can offer is that your number of girl packs is quite low, so perhaps the problem has its roots there. But what exactly it might be... I'm not very current on the 0.2 codebase, Goldo's probably forgotten a bunch already, and often such bugs can be tricky to find without meticulous testing, including recreating your exact circumstances. At one point the culprit of a similar issue could be a missing or extra space or comma in an .ini file!

Have you tried using the .ini generator included in the tagging tool?

So, was it actually 'backgrund' that was causing you problems, and are they fixed now?


That log goes is toggled via F4 (or Shift + D -> Show Image Load Log). A drawback of having developer mode enabled, I suppose.

I keep wanting to give my girls certain traits like "Slave Brand" or "Royal Concubine", (some of these traits being from the Trait King mod which yes, I do have installed) in their _BK.ini but whenever I put them as always = ["Slave Brand"]  or always = ["Royal Concubine"], When i Load up the game i get the Error Parsing girls/(girlname)/_BK.ini Slave brand is not a valid trait. i've only had this problem with traits that are two worded, like "Slave Brand" or "Royal concubine". I was just wondering how I can fix this, thx!

The game parses through the BK.ini file before loading Trait King, so it's not possible without adding custom code to your girlpack. And even if it were possible through the BK.ini, it'd cause errors for non Trait King users.

I'd recommend waiting for the next release, as Goldo has talked about upcoming changes that'll make adding traits to girlpacks simpler.
